South Jersey Man Stabbed In Chest, Suspect Arrested: Police

A 25-year-old man from Bridgeton has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that left another man in critical condition, authorities said.

Shortly after midnight on Friday, Sept. 15, Bridgeton police were dispatched to a unit block on Walnut Street for a stabbing. 

Police found the victim, a 54-year-old Bridgeton resident, with a stab wound to his chest. The victim was airlifted to Cooper Medical Center for treatment and was listed in critical but stable condition, police said.

A short time later, police found Daniel Perez of Walnut Street nearby and placed him under arrest without incident. 

Perez was charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses police said.

He was being held in Cumberland County Jail.
